“In this case Zelensky, perhaps, could agree to sit down at the table for a negotiation”
“In this situation we can only be with the West in defense of the rights of a free and democratic country like Ukraine.” Silvio Berlusconi says this in the book by Bruno Vespa “The great storm” to be released on Friday 4 November by Mondadori Rai Libri.
When asked by Vespa about the conditions for reaching a peace negotiation, Berlusconi replies: “Perhaps, only if at a certain point Ukraine realizes that it can no longer count on weapons and aid and if, instead, the West promises to provide it with hundreds of billions of dollars to rebuild its war-torn cities. In this case Zelensky, perhaps, could agree to sit down at the table for a negotiation ”.
Vespa objects that Putin should at least leave the two occupied and annexed regions (Kherson and Zaporizhzhia) after the other two in Donbass (Donetsk and Luhansk). Berlusconi seems to agree, but he thinks that membership in the Russian Federation of Crimea should not be discussed and a new referendum in the Donbass with the control of the West should be held.
