Ukraine, heating, shelter and electricity in 11 ‘points’ set up by Cesvi in Bucha

Eleven spaces to offer shelter to the population of Bucha during the day in a heated place, with food and drink, internet connection and the possibility of recharging your mobile phone. They have been set up by the Cesvi Foundation in the Ukrainian town devastated by war and struggling with the lack of electricity and heating as temperatures drop dramatically. “We have created 11 spaces, each of about 25 square meters, heated with generators, where people can therefore find a warm place, comfort items, internet connection and electricity”, explains Roberto Vignola, deputy general manager of Cesvi, to Adnkronos. adding that the crowdfunding campaign #unacopertaperlucraina is active to support the intervention.

This is just one of the ongoing initiatives in the field. “Since the end of February we have been in border countries, such as Poland, Hungary and Romania, and in Ukraine with support projects, for the delivery of food kits, for heating, for psycho-social support for children – he says – Ad April 2022, in addition to these interventions, we started a collaboration with the mayor of Bucha and the Kiev authorities for programs in the area aimed at those who had seen the massacres”.

“The idea is to bring about a return to normality with the reconstruction of some schools. We have just rehabilitated a school for 300 children, which had been heavily damaged and we have rearranged stored areas of kindergartens between Kiev and Bucha, devastated during the occupation of the Russians, reaching a pool of another 700 children – he underlines – Then there is the issue of psychological support for women and children: we have a multi-purpose center in Bucha that acts as a consultancy for families in difficulty and mobile units that move around area and do house calls.”
