Pro-Russian head of Kherson administration on Gb sanctioned list
The army of Kiev has announced that it has liberated four settlements in the Kherson region: the villages of Davydiv Brid, Starosillya, Arkhangelsk and Velyka Oleksandrivka. “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the marines! – wrote the Ukrainian military on social networks – Today, 4 October, Davydiv Brid was freed by the Russians thanks to the forces of the 35th separate brigade of marines. We solemnly hang a yellow and blue flag on Davydiv Brid “.
The Ukrainian army also posted videos referring to the liberation of other settlements in the Kherson region, those of Starosillya, Arkhangelsk and Velyka Oleksandrivka.
The head of the pro-Russian administration of Kherson, Sergei Vladimirovich, has been placed by the British government on the list of individuals under sanctions.
The Kherson region, whose annexation Moscow has claimed, is only partially controlled by Russian forces. The Ukrainian army has made significant progress in this region in recent days, capturing several villages.
The map used today by the Russian defense ministry in its daily briefing confirms the significant land losses in Ukraine’s Kherson region. CNN notes this, comparing today’s map with the one shown yesterday.
General Igor Konashenkov, who spoke as the map appeared on a screen, made no mention of the territory losses. But he said Russian forces destroyed armored vehicles and killed enemy soldiers by naming locations believed to be now under Ukrainian control, in what appears to be a de facto admission of the Ukrainian advance towards Kherson.
