“The Belarusian Air Force is ready for any developments and has taken adequate measures to ensure the country’s security.” Deputy Air Force and Air Defense Commander Anatoly Bulavko told the STV TV channel, referring to the Ukrainian missile shot down over Belarus at the end of December.
According to the senior military official, Belarus currently has all the capabilities to ensure its security. “This is why we have a sober view of the situation and have taken appropriate measures. And our population, our people, can sleep peacefully and everyone can do their job.”

Minsk has asked Kiev to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, prosecute those responsible, and take comprehensive measures to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future.
Meanwhile, the Russian and Belarusian armed forces have extended their joint exercises until January 8. This was reported by Belaruski Hajun, an independent Belarusian media that monitors military activities, via its Telegram channel. It is noted that the joint exercises started on April 29, i.e. 36 weeks ago.
