Ukraine, Russia: “Attacks on infrastructure in response to the use of Western weapons”

Peskov: “There is no doubt about the success of the special military operation”

Russia’s attacks on infrastructure in Ukraine are a reaction to the arms supply Western countries are carrying out in Kiev. This was stated by Russia’s representative to the United Nations, Vasili Nebenzia, before the UN Security Council. “We are attacking infrastructure in Ukraine in response to Western use of weapons and reckless calls by Kiev for a military victory over Russia,” the Russian representative to the United Nations said.

“Western countries are trying to establish their geopolitical hegemony for the power and life of Ukrainians,” added the Russian diplomat, specifying that Russia will continue with actions to limit Ukraine’s military potential until Kiev adopts a ” realistic negotiating position”. “For now, what we hear from Zelensky and his associates – he said – is not a proposal for peace at all, but only reckless threats and ultimatums. Ukraine encourages an irresponsible line”.

For his part, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said during a press conference that Russia has no doubts about the success of its special military operation in Ukraine.

Asked whether he agreed that the future of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) depends on the success of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, Peskov replied that “we can agree with this, subject to that the future and success of the special operation are not in doubt”.
