“The decision will be made at the last minute”
Ukraine ready for a counter-offensive, but the decision will be taken at the last minute. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal – on the eve of his visit to the United States as reported by Ukrinform – said that a large-scale counter-offensive by Ukrainian forces against Russia could already begin in the summer.
The premier noted that Kiev does not feel pressure from partners about when it is best to start active operations. “All our friends and partners clearly understand that in order to launch a counteroffensive, you need to be 100% ready and even more so,” the head of the Ukrainian government stressed.
“We have repeatedly demonstrated that we can do it. We are asking our international partners for more military potential, such as tanks, ammunition, aircraft and armored vehicles,” he added, confirming that Ukraine is indeed suffering losses in terms of economic and human lives, “And these leaks are really causing serious damage to all of us.”
In any case, the decision on the modalities of the Ukrainian counter-offensive will be taken “at the last moment” and the leak of confidential documents from the Pentagon will not affect the operation since all information on military plans is classified, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksii Danilov, in an interview with the German newspaper Tagesschau.
According to Danilov, Ukraine is in constant contact with its main allies, such as the USA, Great Britain, Germany and Poland, but regarding certain operations such as the counter-offensive planned for spring, information relating to the number of units that will be employed remains secret. what forces will be involved and in which direction they will move.
“If anyone thinks they have them, I congratulate them. But I don’t know where they could get them from. The Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters will make the decision to launch the planned counteroffensive at the last moment. If anyone thinks we have only one option, then that’s not the case. Even three options are not enough,” said Danilov.
Kuleba: “Blinken rejected doubts about Kiev’s ability to win”
Secretary of State Antony Blinken assured fellow Ukrainian Dmytro Kuleba that the United States rejects “any doubts about Ukraine’s ability to win on the battlefield,” Kuleba said on Twitter.
“During our call today, Secretary of State Blinken reaffirmed unwavering American support and strongly rejected any attempt to question Ukraine’s ability to win on the battlefield. The United States remains a trusted partner of the ‘Ukraine, focused on bringing our victory closer and securing a just peace,” added Kuleba.
