Two Italian journalists were injured in Kherson. One of the two affected reporters, Claudio Locatelli, writes it on Facebook, attaching a video of their escape by car after yesterday’s attack in the southern Ukrainian city and assuring that he and the photojournalist Niccolò Celesti “are fine”. “We were hit! The explosion you see damaged the car, we were blocked at gunpoint before being able to get to safety, I lost blood but the wound is minor. If I had opened the door I would be without a leg or worse”, writes Locatelli.
“The car is well signposted, there was no one else, the attack on us was intentional given the place and dynamics – he denounces – The shooting came from the bank beyond the Dnipro, where the Russian army is located. The press has no excuses. Luckily we are fine, we will continue to verify and report this conflict precisely in response to those who want to silence us, to those who try to slander and those who try to obscure our commitment on the ground”.
