Ukraine, Zelensky thanks Biden for cluster bombs: “Peace closer”

The thanks of the Ukrainian president to the US for the new package of military vehicles worth 800 million dollars

The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky thanked US President Joe Biden for the new $800 million military aid package that also includes cluster munitions. ”A timely, large and necessary defense aid package from the United States. We are grateful to the American people and President Jo Biden for the decisive steps that bring Ukraine closer to victory over the enemy and democracy to victory over dictatorship”, wrote Zelensky on Twitter.

”Increased defense capabilities of Ukraine will provide new tools to liberate our land and to bring peace closer”, added the Ukrainian leader.

In the package they are also included Bradley and Stryker armored vehicles and a range of munitions, such as howitzer shells and the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System.

It was “a difficult decision,” President Joe Biden told CNN yesterday. “It was a very difficult decision for me. I talked about it with our allies and discussed it with friends at the Capitol. The Ukrainians are running out of ammunition. This is a war that revolves around ammunition,” he added, referring to to the “transitional” decision adopted on the basis of the Pentagon recommendation and valid until the United States is able to produce other shells for 155 mm howitzers.
