The president also met with the wounded of the Russian attack on the Transfiguration Cathedral
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has traveled to the port city of Odessa in southern Ukraine to meet with the wounded from the Russian attack on the Transfiguration Cathedral. Zelensky went both to the military hospital where the wounded are hospitalized, and to the cathedral to see for himself the damage suffered by the Unesco heritage building.
”Architect experts in architecture are currently working to evaluate the possibility of restoring the church. I am grateful to our partners in Europe for their willingness to participate in the reconstruction. Above all, the Kasperov icon of the Mother of God has been saved and the heart of the church is alive,” Zelensky said in a video released on social media.
