The profuse initiatives for the protection of the tangible and intangible heritage of which small towns and villages are rich; the presentation of the “2023 Pro Loco Member’s Card” dedicated to Bergamo-Brescia, the Italian capital of culture; the conferences on the themes: “Carnivals of Tradition”, “Role of the Pro Loco as a fundamental resource for the preservation of traditions and small towns” and “Review of the historical processions of Puglia”. Full program of initiatives for the participation of the National Union of Pro Loco at Bit 2023 which will take place in Milan, from 12 to 14 February.
The presence at the International Tourism Exchange, in the stand of the Unpli Lombardia Committee (Hall 3, stand D25), will also be an opportunity to illustrate the actions undertaken in implementation of the contents of the Unesco “Convention for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage” , an organization with which the National Union of Pro Loco d’Italia (Unpli) has been accredited for over ten years; on the table also the census and the enhancement of the expressions of the intangible cultural heritage of the small Municipalities in collaboration with the Anci, with the Central Institute for demo-ethnoanthropology and the main experts in the field of intangible heritage.
Unpli also brings to BIT the essential role played by the Pro Loco in terms of information, tourist reception and territorial animation. An offer that the data of the Centro Studio Sintesi of the Cgia of Mestre photograph in 110 thousand events in which 88 million visitors took part (statistics referring to 2018). The more than 6200 Pro Loco Unpli act, moreover, as a real access portal to the casket represented by territories and centers that are very different from the most popular destinations, guiding tourists and visitors by the hand to discover traditions, crafts, flavors, landscape and naturalistic beauties thus responding concretely to the growing demand for authentic experiences and outdoor activities.
Three different conferences are scheduled for Monday 13th. At 13.00 the presentation of the “Carnivals of Tradition” will be held at the Veneto Region’s stand, in which the following will take part: Federico Caner, Veneto Region Tourism Councilor; Paola Mar, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Venice; Antonino La Spina, president of Unpli; Fernando Tomasello, vice president of Unpli; Sandro Pappalardo, board of directors of Enit; Vincenzo Cutugno, Molise Region Tourism Councilor; Raffaele Sestu, president of Unpli Sardinia, and Rocco Lauciello, president of Unpli Puglia.
At 4 pm in the Molise Region stand, it will be the turn of the conference entitled “The role of the Pro Loco as a fundamental resource for the preservation of traditions and small towns”, which will be attended by: Vincenzo Cutugno, Tourism Councilor of the Molise Region; Antonino La Spina, president of Unpli; Federico Caner, Veneto Region Tourism Councilor; Sandro Pappalardo, Board of Enit; Cono Catrini, general manager of the Sicilian Region Tourism Department; Fernando Tomasello, vice president of Unpli; Pietro Segalini, president of Unpli Lombardia; Rocco Laucello, president of Unpli Puglia; Max Falerni, president of Unpli Emilia Romagna; Stefano Raso, vice president of Unpli Piemonte; and Pierfranco De Marco, board of directors of Unpli. At 5.30 pm, at the Lombardy Region stand, the presentation of the “Pro Loco 2023 Member Card” with Antonino La Spina, Unpli president; Pietro Segalini, Unpli Lombardia president; Fernando Tomasello, Unpli vice president; Stefano Raso, head of the Member Card Department ; Simone Maraggi, responsible for Tourism in the Municipality of Brescia; Christopher Sanchez, director of Visit Bergamo; Sandro Pappalardo, board of directors of Enit.
The appointments continue on Tuesday at 16.30 in the Puglia Region stand, with the presentation of the “Review of the historical processions of Puglia”, which will be attended by: Gianfranco Lopane, Puglia Region Tourism Councilor; Antonino La Spina, president of Unpli; Rocco Lauciello, president of Unpli Puglia; Francesca Clemente, artistic director of the Historical Procession of Laterza; some participants in the procession will also participate.
