US abortion, Louisiana judge blocks the application of the ban

The decision was made on the appeal of two groups in favor of voluntary termination of pregnancy

A Louisiana judge has blocked the automatic application of the ban on abortion throughout the state following the sentence of the US Supreme Court which abolished the federal right to be able to abort. The decision came on the appeal of two groups in favor of voluntary termination of pregnancy, Center for Reproductive Rights and Boies Schiller Flexner Llp, reports the site The Hill.

“Abortions can be carried out in the state, a hearing has been set for July 8,” reads an email released by the Center for Reproductive Rights, after the judge’s decision. The appeal asks to clarify the effects of “trigger laws” previously approved in Florida, as well as in other states, to trigger the automatic ban on abortion in the event of a decision to this effect by the Supreme Court. It is also required to determine what options exist for life-saving interventions that involve an abortion.
