“I note that the mandate I had received from the political forces, that of strengthening the regional majority that was formed after the elections, cannot be achieved due to the distances that must be clarified and addressed”, he wrote in a letter to the Council
The president of the Valle D’Aosta Region, Erik Lavvaz, has handed in his resignation to the president of the Regional Council, Alberto Bertin. “I have worked, as far as possible, to remove the political frictions of the last few months from the Regional Council, – writes Lavvaz in his resignation letter – giving centrality to the movements that have brought their elected officials into the Assembly. I acknowledge that the mandate that I had received from the political forces, that of strengthening the regional majority that was formed after the elections, cannot be achieved due to the distances that must be clarified and addressed. Today, these tensions risk hindering the administrative action that we have carried forward so far. I therefore resign with the hope that this gesture will facilitate the confrontation between the political forces and lead to a more rapid recomposition of the general framework, up to the formation of a new fully active majority”.
Executive in charge of current affairs
Until the election of the new president of the Region and of the new regional government, the executive remains in charge of ensuring the management of current affairs, without prejudice to the possibility of adopting urgent acts whose adoption cannot be postponed, and the vice president carries out the functions of President of the Region.
