“Thankful for being able to clarify with him”
“I am grateful to the Holy Father for having been able to clarify with him in a cordial meeting two days ago”. This was announced by Cardinal Angelo Becciu, accused in the Vatican trial for the financial scandal linked to the sale of the London building on Sloane Avenue, through his defenders, Fabio Viglione and Maria Concetta Marzo.
In detail, the cardinal, in the note, observes: “I am grateful to the Holy Father for having been able to clarify with him in a cordial meeting two days ago. The Pope heartened me. I forcefully renewed for him the senses of my immutable and total devotion and I am equally grateful to him because he confirmed my invitation to continue to participate in the celebrations of cardinals”.
A meeting, the one between the Pope and Cardinal Angelo Becciu, which took place last Saturday a few days after the latest revelations in the context of the process underway in the Vatican, including the news of a telephone call, recorded without the Pontiff’s knowledge, in the house of the cardinal a few days before the trial started, and the diffusion of conversations between Becciu and his relatives in a chat which also speaks of the Pope and the magistrates.
