The young Palestinian blocked after social media messages to settlers: “What Hitler did to you was a joke”
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) arrested Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi during the night between Sunday and Monday. The newspaper Haaretz reports this, explaining that Tamimi was taken into custody in the village of Nabi Salih, in the West Bank, near Ramallah, after threatening to kill Jewish settlers. “Our message to the settler herds is that we are waiting for you in every city, from Hebron to Jenin. We will massacre you and you will say that what Hitler did to you was a joke. We will drink your blood and eat your skulls. Come on, we’re waiting for you“, we read in Tamimi’s post, written in Hebrew and Arabic. A ”terrorist has been arrested”, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir wrote in a tweet, praising the Israeli soldiers.
The activist had already been arrested in 2018, accused of assaulting an IDF officer, caught on camera slapping the Israeli officer. On that occasion, Tamimi was sentenced to eight months in prison and a fine of 5,000 shekels (about 1,200 dollars).
