This is what the Civil Protection Department writes on the basis of the available forecasts, according to which a low pressure area that insists on the Tyrrhenian Sea will be responsible for a bad weather phase, which will involve, tomorrow, most of the regions central-southern regions, subsequently also favoring an intensification of the winds from the eastern quadrants over most of our country.
The weather phenomena, impacting on the various areas of the country, could cause hydrogeological and hydraulic problems. From today’s evening, scattered to widespread rainfall is expected, including downpours or thunderstorms, in the Apennine areas of Emilia-Romagna, in the coastal areas of Tuscany, in central-southern Lazio, Campania, Abruzzo, Molise and Sicily, in extension, from the morning, on Calabria, Basilicata and Puglia. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, electrical activity and strong gusts of wind. From the early hours of tomorrow, strong to stormy winds with a prevailing northern or eastern component are also expected in Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio, extending to Molise, Puglia, Campania, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily. Storms expected along the exposed coasts.
On the basis of the expected and ongoing phenomena, an orange alert on sectors of Campania was evaluated for today and tomorrow, Saturday 26 November. For tomorrow, orange alert also on part of Lazio, Molise and the whole of Sicily, yellow alert on the remaining sectors of Lazio, Campania and Molise, on part of Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Sardinia, on Umbria, Abruzzo, Apulia, Basilicata and Calabria.
CAMPANIA – Rain and thunderstorms associated with strong winds and very rough seas will hit the entire regional territory of Campania from 9 pm today, Friday 25 November and until 9 pm tomorrow, Saturday 26 November. The alert, as far as hydrogeological risk is concerned, is orange on the Piana Campana, Naples, Islands, Vesuvian area, Alto Volturno and Matese, Sorrento-Amalfi Coast, Monti di Sarno and Monti Picentini areas, and yellow on the rest of the region . Throughout the region, regardless of the area, there is also an alert for strong winds with gusts and very rough seas along the exposed coasts.
As a result of the orange alert issued by the Civil Protection of Campania for the whole day tomorrow, Saturday 26 November, schools and city parks will remain closed in Naples. Castel dell’Ovo and Maschio Angioino will also be closed. In consideration of the weather conditions characterized by strong winds and intense rainfall, the municipal administration recommends citizens “to limit travel to those strictly necessary”.
LAZIO – “The Regional Functional Center announces that the Civil Protection Department has today issued the warning of adverse weather conditions with the indication that from today evening, Friday 25 November 2022 and for the following 24-36 hours, Lazio is expected to: Precipitation from scattered to widespread, even in the nature of showers or thunderstorms, the phenomena will be accompanied by showers of strong intensity, electrical activity and strong gusts of wind. Furthermore, from the early hours of tomorrow, Saturday 26.11.2022 and for the following 24-36 hours , strong to stormy winds with a prevailing northern or eastern component are expected. Storm surges along the exposed coasts”. The Civil Protection of Lazio communicates it in a note.
The Regional Functional Center has carried out the assessment of the Alert/Criticality Levels and therefore forwarded a bulletin valid from today evening, Friday 25 November and for 24-36 hours with an orange alert for hydrogeological criticality, hydrogeological criticality for thunderstorms and hydraulic criticality on southern coastal basins of Lazio. Also issued yellow wind warning on all warning zones. The Permanent Operations Room of the Lazio Region has issued the alert of the Regional Civil Protection System and invited all the structures to adopt all the fulfilments of competence. It should be remembered that for any emergency, the population will be able to refer to the municipal civil protection structures to which the Regional Operations Room will guarantee constant support.
TUSCANY – The Operations Room of the Regional Civil Protection has issued a yellow code for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Tuscany, with minor hydrogeological and hydraulic risk of the network, which will affect from 6 pm today, Friday 25 November, until 6 am tomorrow, Saturday 26 November, the central-southern coast and the archipelago. In addition, a yellow code was issued for the entire day of Saturday 26 November due to strong north-east winds which will affect the entire central-southern area of Tuscany.
