AI artist Barsee wanted to show us Chris Rock’s point of view for the first time ever regarding Will Smith’s famous slap at him at the 2022 Oscars. Barsee recently posted a series of fake photos on Twitter, created through Artificial Intelligence thanks to the Midjourney software.

After his Will Smith images, Midjourney temporarily disabled the free version for the boom registered on the platform. An “extraordinary demand” and the abuse of evidence by curious users are the reasons why Midjourney had to deactivate its trial version, the platform said.
“POV: You just badmouthed Will Smith’s wife at the Oscars (big mistake),” the caption of the first of four images reads.

You can look at the fake photos made with AI by Barsee using the Midjourney software in the tweet that we show you at the bottom of this article.

Fake images are “terrifying”

These fake shots that are “terrifying” (to quote the words of some Twitter users who are commenting on the images in these terms) come in conjunction with Elon Musk’s invitation to “suspend the development of AI” that is too powerful.

After the artfully made fake images of Donald Trump arrested by policemen in the United States and Pope Francis sporting the white Balenciaga puffer jacket, the world started rolling its eyes at such realism. And to shiver.

AI is getting out of hand

“I’m sorry but this AI thing is starting to scare me” is one of the many comments that have recently blossomed on Twitter as well as on other social networks.

“This makes me deeply uncomfortable,” reads below the photos of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock.

The sadly famous slap, which has now become the most famous in the history of cinema

During the ceremony of the 94th Academy Awards, in 2022, the star of the film King Richard (who received the Oscar for best actor for this role) slapped Chris Rock with an open hand while the latter was on stage, in the role of conductor.

That violent reaction was triggered by a joke by the comedian about the hair of his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Rock compared her to Demi Moore in the film Private Jane, in which the actress appeared with a shaved head. Will Smith’s wife is known to suffer from alopecia.

Will Smith later apologised: “The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, everyone present and the global audience at home,” wrote the actor in a statement shared on his social channels.

Smith had never engaged in any type of violent action in his long Hollywood career. Will Smith’s mother, Carolyn, shared her opinion on the incident, telling WPVI-TV (CNN affiliate) that her slap came as a surprise to her: “He IS a very level-headed person. It’s the first time I’ve seen it go off. First time in his life… I’ve never seen him do it.”
