World Cup 2022, Morocco prepares another invasion of fans in Qatar

It will be the Al Thumama stadium in Doha, with 44,000 seats, the theater of the eagerly awaited challenge of the quarter finals of the World Cup between Portugal and the surprise Morocco. The organizers expect a full house with a clear predominance of North African fans.

To push the ‘Lions of the Atlas’ to a historic qualification, the Ministry of National Education, Childhood and Sport and the Moroccan Football Federation have renewed the agreement with the Royal Air Morocco for seven special flights departing from Casablanca, and returning, to Qatar.

Like the charter flights for previous matches, tickets will be at a fixed rate: 5,000 dirhams, 450 euros, for a return trip in economy class. Launched yesterday, the ticket offer sold out immediately. A similar initiative was promoted by the Moroccan government for the group stage matches, on average fans can save about half compared to a return ticket at normal costs.
