After the first meeting in Sappada, i XXXIV National Winter Games Special Olympics come to an end with the second stage of Bardonecchia. 35 teams present, 250 athletes with and without intellectual disabilities from all over Italy challenged their limitshighlighting their abilities beyond disability: an inclusive message through sport of which Special Olympics athletes are the first bearers, for the benefit of the entire community.
A special journey, which began on 9 March with the press conference to present the Games and the lighting of the first spark of the torch at the premises of the Premium Partner of the Games, the Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper in Turin. After a journey of more than 200 km, the Torch Run ended and Bardonecchia on March 13thwhere the torch made its entrance into the Opening Ceremony.
“Special Olympics represents the sport we love. We are proud to be able to participate actively in this experience thanks to the Banca del Tempo, a wonderful initiative with which we make a number of hours available to our colleagues to do volunteer work” he declared Claudia Vassena, Sales and Marketing Digital Retail Intesa Sanpaolo.
