Expected meeting in the Vatican

Prime Minister Meloni had invited the Ukrainian president to the Italian capital during his visit to Kiev in February. An important meeting with Pope Francis, long awaited in Kiev. An invitation that the pontiff has always postponed because his desire has always been to go to Kiev only on condition that he also goes to Moscow. So far, however, no opening has come from Russia and in the end it will be Zelensky himself who will go to the Vatican. The visit to Rome, as Tass da Roma writes quoting “a Vatican source”, is not linked to the “peace mission” of which the Pontiff has spoken in recent days. According to the source, Zelensky requested “just a few days ago” to be received by the Pope as part of his visit to Rome.
